Following are the Union-Bulletin's recommendations on the Nov. 8 General Election:
Carrera has the depth and breadth of knowledge that now make him an excellent School Board member.
In the only contested Walla Walla School Board race on the Nov. 8 ballot, we recommend voters return Max Carrera to the Board.
Clark is an advocate for open government who insists on holding thoughtful discussions on the issues.
When Barbara Clark first sought a seat on the Walla Walla City Council she was a vocal critic of some aspects of city government. And she was a watchdog who insisted the public's business be done in public.
His challenger, Mary Lou Jenkins, is a solid candidate but Elia has the edge.
Dominick Elia has done an excellent job as a member of the Walla Walla City Council.
Cummins is a tireless worker who listen to the public and gets results.
Jerry Cummins has a clear understanding of this community and its people. He listens, develops clear plans based on thoughtful analysis and takes action.
Incumbent Fred Mitchell is doing a fine job, but Plucker has the potential to be outstanding.
Whether voters re-elect Fred Mitchell to the Walla Walla City Council or opt to elect his challenger, Chris Plucker, they simply can't go wrong. They are both excellent candidates.
