City paints over giant purple octopus
In the dawn hours Thursday morning, a painting crew from out of town works to quickly cover the Inland Octopus toy store mural on Main Street in Walla Walla. After years of battling in the courts, the Inland Octopus toy store mural was painted over by the City of Walla Walla at dawn and the equipment removed before 7:00 A.M. today.
Chef in the School brings Asian fare to Prospect Point Elementary
Chef in the School, a program developed by Walla Walla Public Schools Nutrition Services Department and Farm to School Program, is bringing local chefs into elementary schools to develop diverse, new recipes for school children. On Thursday, Damon Burke of Salumiere Cesario, visited Prospect Point Elementary School to serve of lunch consisting of an Asian-style chicken bowl and a salad bar with beets, Asian salad and Hummus.
