Police were dispatched Friday evening at 11:54 to the 600 block of Chase Avenue after numerous 911 calls of shots being fired and reports of a fight. One victim is being treated for injuries sustained during the incident at a local hospital.
Two Walla Walla women were held hostage early this morning by a shotgun wielding suspect who has been identified as Kyle R. Jamerson, 27, 1020 Alvarado Terrace, Apt. C. Jamerson’s whereabouts are unknown at this time and he is believed to be armed with a hand gun. Anyone who knows where he may be is urged to call 911 and not to approach him.

A Pioneer Middle School student was arrested after a school official walked by his locker and smelled the odor of Marijuana coming from the locker.
The Walla Walla Police Department and Walla Walla Sheriff’s office have responded to numerous heroin overdose calls in the last 6-8 weeks. This raises the concern that heroin users may be getting a form of the drug that has a higher purity level than users in this area are accustomed to.
A suspicious item, which resembled a pipe bomb, was found to be just a piece of pipe, connected to what appeared to be the parts from a household smoke detector.
A suspect wanted for a robbery out of McMinnville, OR, was arrested Tuesday afternoon at around 4:30. WWPD had been notified by the McMinnville Police Department that Michael Ray Beals II, 25, was in Walla Walla and possibly working as a tattoo artist at a local shop. Beals was taken into custody without incident while at work.
Patrol Officers arrested Ryan Lewis Farr, 30, for the Friday night stabbing of a Walla Walla woman. Officers had been focusing their search for Farr in the area of the 600 block of West Moore Street. During a search of the area, Farr was found hiding in a garage. He was taken into custody without incident Saturday night at around 9:15.
Umatilla County - The Washington State Okanogan and Wenatchee Complex fires and a weather inversion are creating hazardous and smoky conditions for Umatilla County. The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for northeast Oregon for the next several days.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that probable cause existed for the arrest of Dewey G. Cleveland, 35, Walla Walla, for 3 counts of 4th Degree Assault (Domestic Violence).
