About our new digital subscription provider

The Union-Bulletin switched to a new digital subscription provider, MediaPass, on Tuesday, September 8, 2014. This switch will make it easier for customers to sign up for and manage online subscriptions.

We hope this page answers your questions about your online account and subscription, but if you need additional help or have problems accessing your online subscription once the new system is in place, please call our customer support line at 866-787-7655.

If you have questions about any of the content on this page, please call our circulation department at 509-525-3301 or email us at circulation@wwub.com. If you're having an issue with your account, please tell us your email address, and whether you're a print or online-only subscriber.

How does the new subscription system work?

Our new digital subscriptions are provided through a third-party company called MediaPass. MediaPass has its own login system that is separate from the rest of the U-B website.

You may view up to five free articles per month without an online subscription. After you hit that limit, a box will pop up on screen asking you to log in to MediaPass or subscribe to continue reading. If you're currently an online subscriber, or a print subscriber who has already signed up for digital access, you can log in with your existing U-B email and password. Once you sign in, you’ll be able to view all content on the U-B website.

To log in to an existing account, just click the “log in” tab toward the right of the box and enter your username and password.

If you want to sign in to MediaPass before you hit the free article limit, you can do so on this page—just click the "Sign into your online subscription" button.

How do I sign into MediaPass?

To sign in, just wait until the MediaPass box pops up and enter your email address and password. If you want to sign in before you've read your five free articles, click here and select the "Sign into your online subscription" option.

What happens to my current union-bulletin.com account?

If you have a subscription associated with your union-bulletin.com account, you’ll be able to log in to MediaPass with the same email and password you use on our site.

MediaPass only handles subscriptions, so you will still need to log in to union-bulletin.com to comment on articles or submit events to our events calendar. You can log in to this account at union-bulletin.com/accounts/login/, or by clicking the "login" button on the black bar at the top of any page on the website.

If your existing email address and password are not working on MediaPass, please call customer support at 866-787-7655.

If you have problems or need help with your union-bulletin.com account, please call our circulation department at 509-525-3301 or email circulation@wwub.com.

I have a monthly or annual online subscription. Will it still renew automatically?

When your current subscription term expires, your online subscription will not renew automatically. Once your subscription has expired, you may renew it using the MediaPass box. Once you're renewed once with MediaPass, your subscription will continue to renew automatically from that point forward.

I already have a subscription. Will my current username and password work on MediaPass?

Yes. If you already have an online subscription, you’ll be able to log in to MediaPass with the email address associated with your account and your current password.

If you’re having trouble logging in with your email address and password, please call customer support at 866-787-7655.

I’m signed in to my union-bulletin.com account, but the MediaPass login box is still popping up. Help!

Your union-bulletin.com account, which allows you to comment on stories and submit events, is separate from your MediaPass subscription.

If the MediaPass box is popping up, you will need to log in with your email and password for your online subscription. If you already have an online subscription, your email and password for MediaPass will be the same as the email and password for your union-bulletin.com account.

When you’re signed in to your U-B account, you will see your username on the black bar at the top of any page on our website.

I don't have an online subscription. What will happen to my username or account on union-bulletin.com?

If you have an online account for commenting or submitting events, but do not have a subscription, nothing will change. You will be able to log in to your existing account at union-bulletin.com/accounts/login/ and will still be able to view five free articles per month.

I already registered my print subscription for online access. Do I need to re-register?

No, you do not need to register again. When the MediaPass box pops up, you can log in using the email and password you've always used on our website. If you're not sure what email you registered your subscription under, give us a call at 866-787-7655.
