WALLA WALLA -- The trial that had been scheduled to begin next week for a man suspected of raping a 16-year-old girl has been postponed again in Walla Walla County Superior Court.
Jeffrey Aaron Bruton, 35, of 1600 Gray Lynn Drive, now is expected to face a jury starting Nov. 17. The proceedings had been set to begin Tuesday.
Charges against Bruton include two counts of second-degree rape. He is accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with the girl by forcible compulsion on two occasions in Walla Walla County between March 1 and Aug. 27 of last year.
Bruton was arrested Sept. 10, but is free on bond awaiting trial, which has been postponed several times.
This latest delay was granted at the request of the prosecution.
