WALLA WALLA -- Local children will see their wishes come true Saturday at Menlo Park, and you can help set up the smile factory.
The city Parks & Recreation Department is seeking volunteers to help put together playground equipment at the park off Division Street and Alvarado Terrace.
The Friends of Menlo Park raised $23,000 to match a city contribution of the same amount to pay for equipment selected from among three competitors by neighborhood children.
Saturday's work involves assembling the equipment, beginning at 9 a.m.
Concrete footings will be poured Monday and neighborhood volunteers will help spread safety surfacing Wednesday.
People who want to help may call Parks & Recreation at 527-4527 or simply show up at the park Saturday morning.
