Waitsburg's Hometown Christmas starts Saturday

WAITSBURG -- Hometown Christmas begins Saturday with Turkey Bingo at 4 p.m. in the elementary school multi-purpose room. The bingo continues until all the turkey and prizes are gone.

Sunday, craft vendors will be at the school from noon until 3:30 p.m. Live Christmas music by the Waitsburg School music department will fill the air from 1 to 3:15 p.m.

Among the dignitaries expected is Santa, who will be at the school at 1:30 p.m. Santa will give away bags of treats prepared by members of the local grange. Santa will pose for photos for those with their own cameras.

Drawings for gifts and prizes donated by local area businesses begin at 4 p.m. Among the prizes are gift certificates worth $75, $50 and $15 good for purchases at any Waitsburg merchant, donated by the Commercial Club.

The lighted parade begins at the north end of Main Street at 5 p.m. Anyone interested in being in the parade should call Ruth Peterson at 509-337-8849.

A chili feed sponsored by the Commercial Club will be held at 5:30 at the Elementary School.
