Kirkman House Museum celebrates Victorian traditions annually with a Victorian Christmas Jubilee. Join museum friends, staff and volunteers for this free, family-friendly event from 2:30-5:30 p.m. Saturday.
Visitors can enjoy home-baked treats and warm drinks as they wander through the gracefully decorated museum while being serenaded by live, seasonal music. There will be a donation drawing for a chance to win one of Kirkman House Museum's goody baskets bursting with treats, linens and wine. Children (and young-at-heart adults) may bring a wish to share with Saint Nicholas, who will be visiting the museum.
Visitors' participation in the local Toys for Tots program is encouraged: bring a new, non-gift wrapped toy to donate and directly benefit local families in need.
Schedule of performances:
- 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.: Members of the Walla Walla Valley Bands will perform, including a saxophone quartet and a multi-piece instrumental performance.
- 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.: Local pianist Gwen Jones will play renditions of classic holiday songs on the 1890s Weber New York piano originally owned by the Kirkman family.
- 4:30 - 5:30 p.m.: Members of the Living History Band will perform in full Victorian garb.
