Community center plans open house

The new warehouse space will be used to sell larger donated items.

COLLEGE PLACE — SonBridge Community Center, 1200 S.E. 12th St., has a package to open on Dec. 13.

The center’s warehouse, about a year in the making, is complete, adding another component to the multi-functional agency and an open house is planned to celebrate.

SonBridge’s resale shop, Thrift and Gift, has been operating for a few years, selling used clothing, household goods and donated items considered gift-worthy, explained SonBridge Executive Director June Christensen.

The new warehouse space will be used to sell larger donated items — appliances, furniture and outdoor machinery, she added. "Guy stuff."

The event, 2-4 p.m., will include staff and guest presentations, refreshments and tours of the facility.

SonBridge, which has a multitude of services including the SOS Clinic, community classes and Blue Mountain Television, is open Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
