Milton-Freewarer boy struck by car after running into street

WALLA WALLA -- A 3-year-old Milton-Freewater boy was treated at a local hospital for a head injury after being struck by a vehicle outside Goodwill Industries in downtown Walla Walla.

According to a city police report, the boy, Jason Santacruz Arvayo, got away from his mother outside the store, then ran between two parked cars and into the street. A driver, Analisa N. Androlewicz, 20, of Tausick Way, was heading west on Alder Street and did not see the boy as he ran into the street, and the boy was struck.

The boy suffered a contusion on his head, according to the report. He was admitted to Providence St. Mary Medical Center on Sunday and released Monday, a nursing supervisor said.

Witnesses as well as all parties involved said the collision was caused by the boy's careless run into the street, according to the police report.
