Deal with problem at dams

Our dam priority should not be fish runs, it should be "integrity" of dams.

As dam pool capacities are reduced each year by siltation (about 1 percent each year), how can they hold back flood waters? Generate electricity? Provide fish habitat? Guarantee irrigation water or barge transportation water? Ensure recreation?

Most pools are over half full of mud already!

If you have a solution for what to do with dams when their pools are full of mud contact the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. It does not currently have a plan for that circumstance -- because you have never required it to. The Corps is not our enemy, it is our tool.

If you don't deal with the problem -- your children will have to.
