COLLEGE PLACE - Creation of a downtown mixed-use district will be the subject of a public hearing Tuesday by the city Planning Commission.

Planning commissioners will meet at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 625 S. College Ave.

The mixed-use district and rezoning needed for it would create an area where limited residential, commercial and other uses would be allowed in the downtown area.

In other business, Planning Commissioners will honor Thor Bakland for his years of service as a planning commissioner and as mayor.
