WAITSBURG — A balanced scoring attack led the Waitsburg-Prescott girls basketball team past the Dayton Bulldogs, 58-43, here Friday night.

Taelor Carter, Krystal Harris and Genesis Pearson all scored 11 points for W-P.

"We were happy with the balanced scoring," W-P coach Jerry Baker said. "We got everybody involved with eight girls in the scoring column."

Baker also noted that his team shot well from the field. W-P finished 23-of-54 on the night.

Pearson pulled down a game-high 17 rebounds for W-P.

The high scorer for Dayton was Sumura Miller with 11 points.

Kayla Dedloff grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds for Dayton.

W-P did win the game, but Baker was disappointed in two areas of his team’s game.

"Our high number of turnovers really hurt us," Baker said. "Our poor free-throw shooting also wasn’t good. We can do better than that."

The victory improves W-P to 2-2 overall and 1-1 league.

W-P played again Saturday night versus Mac-Hi.

Dayton played again Saturday at DeSales.
