Wolves men reject West Coast Baptist rally

LANCASTER, Calif. — Walla Walla University rejected a come-from-behind bid by West Coast Baptist College to book an 81-78 men’s basketball victory in overtime here on Monday.

The win improves the Wolves’ record to 6-12 on the season.

Walla Walla led 35-29 at halftime, but WCB won the second half 40-34 to send the game into overtime.

Walla Walla built a 12-9 margin in the extra period for the victory.

Tristan Greenidge led the Wolves with 20 points. Gerard Dauphin scored 15 points, and Tristan Edwards and Marc Gulipan scored 13 and 11 points, respectively, for WWU.

Edwards also grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.

Brent Stickles led WCB with 16 points.

"It’s good to get the win, but we didn’t play very well in the second half," Wolves coach Gerry Larson said.

The Wolves return to action at Lewis-Clark State on Jan. 2.
