OES to perform chamber work commissioned for wedding anniversary


PENDLETON -- The Oregon East Symphony holds a benefit concert featuring the world premiere of "Let There Be Love" by talented local composer Chris Thomas at 3 p.m. Jan. 2. This intimate celebration will be held at the Pendleton Center for the Arts, 214 N. Main St.

The chamber work was commissioned to celebrate the wedding anniversary of Dr. Laura Gordon and Dr. Frank Erickson. It will be performed by their children, Aurelia and Hal Erickson, and Oregon East Symphony players Emily Muller Callender, Michelle Day, Loree Tucker McKenna, James Smock, Rebekah Schaub and Annie Harkey Power.

The concert will also feature solo and ensemble performances of other chamber works by these talented musicians.

Tickets are $20 and include celebratory champagne and hors d'oeuvres. Reservations are limited to 80 seats and can be purchased at Armchair Books, The Pendleton Center for the Arts and the OES Office at 541-276-0320.
