COEUR D’ALENE — Wa-Hi’s girls suffered a cold shooting night from the field in a 45-31 loss to Coeur d’Alene at the North Idaho College Holiday Inn basketball tournament here Tuesday.

Jamie Weisner led Wa-Hi with 10 points and a game-high seven rebounds.

Heather Baughman scored a game-high 13 points for CDA.

CDA led 10-8 after the first quarter, then Wa-Hi scored just one point in the second quarter to trail 21-9 at halftime.

The Blue Devils were unable to make up the deficit.

"They are a good team," Wa-Hi coach Jill Meliah said. "They’re ranked No. 1 in Idaho, and they have been for the past four or five years. They have a very strong program.

"Defensively we played well, but offensively we could not get a lot going," Meliah added. "B ut we’ve learned a lot here. We’ve played some good teams, and it’s better than staying home and beating ourselves up in practice."

The Blue Devils played Post Falls at 9 a.m. this morning.
