HELIX — Waitsburg-Prescott’s girls controlled the second half on the way to a 60-34 basketball victory over Powder Valley at the Helix Holiday basketball tournament here Tuesday.
Kristin Potter led W-P with 15 points, and Krystal Harris scored 13. Genesis Pearson snared a game-high 14 rebounds.
W-P led 25-19 at halftime, and outscored the Badgers 35-15 in the second half.
"Our kids played a very good game," W-P coach Jerry Baker said. "They had a good effort after being a litte rusty at the start of the tournament.
"And we shot very well in the second half," he added.
Waitsburg-Prescott plays Helix in the tournament title game today at 4:30 p.m.
