Burbank girls suffer first basketball loss of season

YAKIMA — Colville outscored Burbank 26-11 in the two middle quarters here Wednesday in the SunDome and handed the Coyotes a 42-32 girls basketball defeat, their first of the season after eight straight wins.

The game was deadlocked at 8-8 after the first eight minutes of play, but by the time the game entered the fourth quarter Colville was sitting on a 34-19 advantage the Coyotes could not overcome.

Tiffany Idler and Nicole Roberts scored 12 points each for Burbank in the losing effort.

"We shot 1-for-11 in the second quarter and 3-for-14 in the third," Burbank coach John Muchlinski said. "That doomed us."

Burbank returns to action Jan. 8 at Wahluke in a South Central Conference Eastern Division counter. The Coyotes are 1-0 in division play.
