Tourism Walla Walla has openings for its customer-service workshop SuperHost Fundamentals.
The two-day class runs next Monday and Tuesday at Walla Walla Community College.
The classes, which run 1-4:30 p.m. both days, are intended to provide professional development for those in customer-service positions.
It includes information on Walla Walla's tourism industry, as well as an education in "hosting" customers.
The SuperHost program was introduced as a workshop in 1985 to prepare British Columbia's tourism workforce to host the world at Expo '86.
It has since been shared with other communities for customer-service training.
Locally the program is a joint undertaking between Tourism Walla Walla and Walla Walla Community College. More than 150 people have already completed the training.
Seventeen businesses have earned the "SuperHost" designation by sending at least 60 percent of their front-line employees through the program.
Tourism Walla Walla provides full scholarships for the $95 class to local lodging employees; half-scholarships are offered to all other Walla Walla Valley businesses.
