Symphony to play music by Spokane composer

PENDLETON -- The Oregon East Symphony hosts the world premiere of "Cycling Music" by Spokane composer William Berry at 3:15 p.m. Sunday in the Vert Auditorium, 400 S.W. Dorian Ave.

The conductor is John LoPiccolo, a finalist in the OES search for a new conductor, and the featured soloist is James Smock on trumpet. Dvorak's "Symphony No. 8" and Grieg's "Symphonic Dances" are also on the program.

Tickets are $16/$20 for adults, $13/$17 for seniors, with child, student and family rates available. Tickets may be purchased at the OES office, 345 S.W. Fourth St., Armchair Books, 39 S.W. Dorian Ave., by calling 541-276-0320, via email at www.oregoneastsymphony.org, or at the door.
