WALLA WALLA -- Police tasered a Walla Walla man who officers say was resisting arrest and threatening to fight them.

Thomas S. Mora, 37, of the 600 block of Juniper Street was stopped by police on Thursday afternoon near 13th Avenue and Mill Creek for questioning over several vehicle prowls that occurred minutes earlier at the Family Medical Center parking lot on Rose Street.

According to the police report, Mora became agitated after a witness identified him in connection with the vehicle prowls. The police report said Mora lifted his fists and threatened to fight officers, and that they tried to reason with him.

When an officer approached Mora to place him in custody, police report Mora raised his fists and tightened his fighting posture; that's when the approaching officer hit Mora with his Taser gun and Mora fell to the ground, according to the report.

After handcuffs were placed on Mora, the report said he continued to struggle and that an officer tasered him a second time, at which point Mora became compliant.

Police reported arresting Mora for investigation of vehicle prowl and resisting arrest.
