Beacons shoot down Wolves, 83-67

EUGENE. — A poor shooting night contributed to an 83-67 Walla Walla University loss to Northwest Christian in men’s basketball action here on Tuesday.


The Wolves shot 38 percent from the floor and 55-percent from the free-throw line for the game.


The Beacons countered with 48 percent shooting from the floor and 77 percent from the line.


Neither team scorched the nets with 3-pointers. WWU hit 3-of-18 and NWC connected on 4-of-15.


Jonny Long led the Wolves with 13 points, and Mark Moore and Ryan Spady chipped in 12 points each. Terrance Dalton added 10 for the Wolves.


NWC’s Quinton Guidry lead all scorers with 14 points.


The Wolves won the battle under the hoops 40-38, with Gerard Dauphin grabbing six rebounds.


NW Christian led 39-30 at halftime en route to the win.


The Wolves finished the game with a 2-5 record.
