MILTON-FREEWATER -- The community is encouraged to participate in the annual Service of Thanksgiving sponsored by the Milton-Freewater Ministerial Association at 6:30 p.m Sunday.

This year, the service will feature choirs from McLoughlin High School and Ferndale Elementary School under the direction of Melissa Cunnington and the Ingle Chapel Choir, directed by Janelle Wike.

The Thanksgiving address will be delivered by the Rev. Steve Lyons of First Christian Church in Milton-Freewater.

Vocal and instrumental soloists and groups from various community churches will focus on the theme of gratefulness for the blessings of the past year.

This service is one of two in the year that include an offering for the annual Christmas Food Box distribution.

Participants may bring their donations and a pie to share at the Community Pie Social that follows the service.

The interdenominational service will be at the Milton Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1244 N. Elizabeth St.

It is also accessible from Highway 11 at the north end of town, next to Wee Bit O' Heather's Restaurant.
