"The Miracle Worker," a play by William Gibson, will open at 8 p.m. Friday in the Little Theatre of Walla Walla, 1130 E. Sumach St.
Other performances will be 8 p.m. Nov. 21, 27-28 and Dec. 4-5, with a 2 p.m. matinee Nov. 29.
Anne Sullivan, the orphaned daughter of Irish immigrants, teaches an angry blind and deaf child, Helen Keller, to read and write, and thus to come alive to the world.
The Miracle Worker is the true story of two courageous women who broke barriers for handicapped children.
Anne Bancroft and Patty Duke won Academy Awards for their portrayals of Sullivan and Keller in the 1962 movie.
Jessica Barkl plays Sullivan and Cassidy Meliah plays Keller in this production, directed by Terry and Sherry McConn and produced by Jan Torland.
Tickets at the door are $12 for adults and $9 for children under 13.
