WALLA WALLA — William Edward Whitman, 75, of 169 Ralston Road died Nov. 24, 2009, at his home.
Burial will be private. Arrangements were through Professional Directors & Crematory, 2112 S. Second Ave.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars through the funeral home.
Mr. Whitman was born May 16, 1934, in Milton-Freewater to Donald Ralph and Amelia Emily Schulke Whitman. He attended Ferndale School and Pendleton High School.
He retired from the U.S. Air Force.
He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Pendleton and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Walla Walla.
He was a caring person who gave all to his family, friends and country. He was proud of his many years of service in the Air Force. His patriotism and caring, helpful, doting manner will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by two sisters, Jeanne Kelley of Florida and Donna Michael, of Gresham, Ore; and a great-nephew, Walter G. Ferguson, of Walla Walla. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lee Whitman; and a sister, Betty Jo Smith.
