LA GRANDE — In its first Greater Oregon League volleyball contest against La Grande, Mac-Hi lost in three games Tuesday night.
The Tigers won 25-7, 25-16 and 25-13.
The Pioneers stat leaders included Sierra Burchell with five hits and 36 passing assists; Stefanie Baker with five hits and 34 passing assists; and Karllee Clark with 11 hits, one kill and 29 passing assists.
"This was our first time against them this season," Mac-Hi coach Elizabeth Ellis said. "On the whole, we didn’t play up to our potential. Our skill level is good. Unfortunately, our morale and heart is not in every game that we play.
"As a team, the girls need to work on being aggressive and being ready to put up a fight during matches," Ellis said. "Tonight they played very timid. Hopefully at Thursday’s match against Baker, the team will come out ready to play hard and be focused."
On Thursday, Mac-Hi travels to Baker City for a 7 p.m. match.
