Members of the Dayton School Board are Steve Martin, Marchand Hovrud, Tamara Fritze, Garry Snyder and David Bailey. With all present Wednesday the board:

HOUSE SALE: Following an executive session, accepted a bid of $50,000 for a house the district owns on Second Street. The house was used in the past as a preschool. Unanimous.

PERSONNEL: Approved hiring Casey Acevedo as special education para professional, and accepted the resignation of John Stockton as high school track coach. Unanimous for both.

DONATION: Accepted a donation of office furniture from Banner Bank. Unanimous.

DRESS CODE: Learned principal Jude Cornaggia is working with a group of students, parents and staff to revisit the district's dress code policy for students. The group has met once, and plans to meet again.

ENROLLMENT: Learned Superintendent Doug Johnson submitted a request to the state Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction to increase the district's enrollment from 435 to 460 full time equivalent students. This will allow the district to receive funds for the additional students before January. Actually enrollment is currently 476 FTE.

KINDERGARTEN: Learned the district will have a full-day kindergarten beginning Oct. 19. Presently the 25 students are attending for a half day.

EMERGENCY DRILL: Learned an emergency drill Sept. 30 went well. The drill practiced an evacuation.
