WALLA WALLA -- The museum with the youngest visitors in town, Children's Museum of Walla Walla, is intensively preparing for a double celebration -- the annual Harvest Festival and its fifth anniversary.Dena Popova can be reached at email@example.com.
"Everybody is welcome. We have surprises for kids of all ages and their parents as well. The festival will have a carnival theme and there will be tons of activities for everybody," said Amy E. Woiblet, executive director of the museum.
"There is no admission fee during the event and the tickets for the games and for the food will be available at the door. For the parents we've prepared an affordable raffle that will cost 25 cents per ticket," she said.
The festival will offer a variety of games, prizes, food, music, novelties, special guests, raffles, harvest photos and silent auction items, and memberships for next year will be available at a discount, Woiblet said.
The museum has 22 different educational hands-on exhibits open for kids ages 1-12 all year long. Some of the exhibits that attract the most kids are Wee Walla Walla Harvest Market, Wee Walla Walla Italian Restaurant, Wee Walla Walla Animal Exhibit, Science Sector and Mini Palouse Falls exhibit.
"Throughout the year we also organize different workshops, educational and interactive and of course tons of birthday parties, that are so much fun for all guests," Woiblet dsaid.
The family membership price for one year is $75 and includes unlimited admission, discounts on workshops and classes, e-subscription to the CMWW newsletter and free admission to special "members only" events.
