DAYTON — Despite dropping the first game, Dayton battled back to win a Southeast B South volleyball match with Waitsburg-Prescott here Monday night.
The Bulldogs lost the first game, 20-25, before taking 25-22, 25-17 and 25-23 victories.
Kayla Turner had 13 kills and was 15-for-18 with five aces in the match for Dayton.
Kayla Dedloff was 18-for-21 serving with six aces, and had seven kills for the Bulldogs, while Nicole Lockard was 11-for-11 serving with four aces and 10 kills and Nicole Lambert was 12-for-12 serving with 10 digs.
Amanda Melton had eight kills for Dayton, Mieke Masselink recorded seven kills and 13 digs and McKayla Bickelhaupt had 12 digs.
For W-P, Megan Withers was 19-for-19 while jump-serving for the first time, coach Jessie Buehler said. Withers also had nine digs and six kills.
Genesis Pearson had 16 kills and three blocks for W-P, and center Amanda Weis recorded 23 assists, and was 13-for-13 serving with three aces.
"We were a little off without our libero," Buehler said. "We never found our rhythm. It was our night."
"It was a good match," Bulldogs coach Shannon Turner said. "It was exciting all the way through."
