Harley and Joy Stafford of Walla Walla celebrated their 50th anniversary on a Caribbean cruise with their son, daughter and son-in-law and four grandchildren. They took in the sights, snorkled with stingrays in the Grand Caymans and Cozumel, played with birds and monkeys on Rotan Island and explored the Altun Ha Mayan ruins in Belize.

The couple met in church. Joy’s maiden name is Collins. They married Oct. 5, 1959, in Las Vegas.

Harley retired from Lockheed at NASA in Houston. He was a programmer. At present he does backflow testing. Joy is a homemaker. They have one daughter, Carolyn Sickles of Walla Walla; two sons, Don Stafford of Houston, Texas and Kevin Stafford of Kennewick; and eight grandchildren.
