TigerScots remain perfect in BMC volleyball action


IRRIGON, Ore. — Weston-McEwen remained unbeaten in Blue Mountain Conference volleyball action here Saturday.
The TigerScots defeated Pilot Rock and host Irrigon without losing a set.

W-M defeated Pilot Rock in Saturday’s opener, 25-19, 25-8 and 25-15.

The TigerScots closed out their perfect day with a 25-15, 25-8 and 25-16 sweep of Irrigon.

"They made us earn our points," W-M coach Shawn White said. "We showed improvement in several areas of our game. The young ladies continue to show individual and team improvement. It makes it fun to work with them."

Morgan Entze handed out 44 assists combined in the two Saturday matches. Entze also put down seven serving aces.

Jordan Reger led the TigerScot servers with eight aces on a 22-of-22 serving day. Presley Pahl continued her performance at the net as Pahl drove home 25 kills and added nine blocks.

Tiffany Cain and Jessica Stevens contributed 10 kills each to the TigerScot attack, with Stevens also registering eight blocks. Renee Baumann turned in an all around performance with 27 digs, 17 kills, and five serving aces.

Mary Herbes hit 33-of-35 serves, Leanne Harnden had 12 digs, Haley Freske chipped in a five kill, five block day, and Laina Fairchild drew White’s praise for her ability to compete at different positions.

W-M takes its perfect 10-0 conference mark into a 7:30 p.m. Thursday match against visiting Enterprise.
