Walla Walla’s expansion entry in the wood-bat league will entertain the defending WCL champion Wenatchee AppleSox in a 7:05 p.m. game at Borleske Stadium. It will be the first game of a three-game series between the two clubs to launch the 2010 season.
They’ll meet the following night in another 7:05 start and then close out the series Thursday, June 10, in a 1:05 p.m. affair.
From there, the Walla Walla team, which has not yet been christened, hits the road for a weekend series against the Kelowna, B.C., Falcons. A trio of night games are scheduled June 11-13 on the Falcons’ field.
After a four-day layoff, the Walla Wallans return home to host the WCL’s other new franchise, the Cowlitz Black Bears of Longview-Kelso, in a three-game weekend series that begins June 18. Two night games followed by a Sunday matinee are on tap.

The season is scheduled to conclude Aug. 8, followed by divisional playoffs that begin Aug. 10 and the best-of-three championship series beginning Aug. 14.
The league’s first games are scheduled for June 4, with the Bellingham Bells opening at home against Kelowna and the Kitsap Blue Jackets entertaining the Corvallis Knights. Both games begin at 6:35 p.m. and will commence three-game series.
