A spaghetti dinner fundraiser with a special performance by the Blue Mountain Troublemakers, a local youth bluegrass band from Waitsburg, is planned for Sunday. Donations will help fund eight local boy scouts to attend the National Scout Jamboree, as the organization celebrates 100 years of scouting in summer 2010.
The Blue Mountain Troublemakers will perform at 4:30 p.m. and the dinner will follow at 5:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 323 Catherine St.
A complete Italian dinner of spaghetti with meat or vegetarian sauce, garlic bread, salad, dessert and coffee or lemonade will cost cost $25 for a family of four or more, $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $5 for kids under 10.
Boy Scouts Bradley and Trevor Duprey, Daniel Taggart, Zach Pinney, Nick Poolman, Joel McClure, Sam Wright and Gregg Heller are all preparing for the trip to the East Coast trip by earning merit badges, practicing patrol skills and raising money to pay for airline fare and the camp. Each boy needs to raise more $2,300 to cover the cost.
