Barbershop chorus planning meeting set

Hopeful male troubadours have an opportunity to learn about a potential barbershop chorus at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Mcloughlin High School, 120 S. Main St.

Doug Boedigheimer of Milton-Freewater is taking a measure of interest for such a group, he said. The meeting, taking place in the school’s choir room, will be a informational, organizational and logistical.

Boedigheimer has barbershop quartet and choir experience and is hoping to form a group made up of at least a dozen men. Double that would be even better, he said.

"That makes a solid chorus. That’s a good size for a small town."

Men age 16 and up from all over the Valley are encouraged to come and engage in forming the group, which has a working title of Blue Mountain Men of Song. The chorus concept is more user-friendly than the traditional quartet, Boedigheimer said.
