Jaguars notch four-game volleyball win over Irish

WALLA WALLA — DeSales turned up its level of play, especially in the first game, but lost to Tri-Cities Prep in four Southeast B South volleyball games here Thursday.


The Jaguars won 23-25, 25-12, 25-12, and 25-22.


DeSales is now 3-3 in the South and 5-7 overall.


Caitlin Duncan led the Irish with 13 kills and eight blocks.


Other Irish leaders included Abby Larreau with five kills and three blocks, Annie Higgins with four kills, Jamie Majerus with two kills, Stephanie Ferrel with two kills, Amanda Warnick with nine assists and Chantel Blanc with 11 asists and 17-for-17 serving.


"We had great defensive play by Roxana Acock," DeSales coach Lori Blanc said. "The level of play turned up a notch. It was senior night, and the girls played with a lot of emotion, especially in the first game.


"Some of them played their best game of the season."


DeSales plays at Waitsburg with a 7 p.m. start on Tuesday.
