Pirate boys take second at SE 2B District cross country meet


PASCO — Pomeroy’s boys cross country team finished second here Thursday in a four-school Southeast 2B District cross country meet.

Joel Meyers led thje Pirates’ effort with a clocking of 20 minutes, 27 seconds.

Nick Lummetta of Tri-Cities Prep was the overall winner with a time of 18:20, and he led the Jaguars to a first-place team finish with 19 points.

Other Pirate runners were Anthony DellaMaggiora, 10th, 21:13; Robert Adams, 12th, 21:50; Derek Anderson, 13th, 23:40; Kai Ledgerwood, 16th, 24:29; Sam Carlson, 17th, 24:47; and Jaxson Taylor, 18th, 25:06.

The girls race was won by Liberty Christian’s Abby Hansen in a time of 23:35. Tri-Cities Prep had the only complete girls team.

For Pomeroy, Brielle Hocking placed 10th in 29:30 and Catherine DellaMaggiora was 12th in 35:53.
