WALLA WALLA -- Two people were injured, one seriously, following a two-vehicle collision Thursday on U.S. Highway 12.

The Washington State Patrol reports the collision occurred about 11:35 a.m. on the highway near North Touchet Road, about 17 miles west of Walla Walla.

According to the report, Emily E. Huesby, 16, of Touchet, was south on Touchet Road and did not yield the right of way at the intersection to a driver heading east on Highway 12.

The other driver, Doris Bryant, 81, or Hermiston, was not injured, according to the WSP. All involved were wearing seatbelts.

Huesby and her passenger, 15-year-old William G. Huesby, also of Touchet, were taken by ambulance to Providence St. Mary Medical Center, according to the release. Emily Huesby was apparently treated and released. William Huesby was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he was in serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit on Saturday, a Harborview nursing supervisor said.
