Walla Walla Symphony celebrates 103 years

The Walla Walla Symphony will celebrate 103 candles on the cake at its Nov. 7 Birthday Gala.

The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Marcus Whitman Hotel and Conference Center and includes local wine, hors d’oeuvres and a dinner menu of baron of beef, butternut squash ravioli, pastas, salads and various desserts, including Black Forest cake.

Tickets are $75 each and proceeds help support regular Walla Walla Symphony programs and those for area children.

A silent auction will present items for bid, such as a Holland America cruise, a trip for two to the 2010 Masters golf tournament, vacation packages to New York City, Chicago and other destinations, wine from local, award-winning vineyards, tickets to the Seattle Symphony and a chance to conduct the Walla Walla Symphony.

Music for the gala will be provided by The Gary Winston Band.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 529-8020, online at www.wwsymphony.org or at 131/2 E. Main St., Suite 201.
