RICHLAND — Former Walla Walla resident Roy K. Ringel, 84, died Oct. 26, 2009.
A memorial service was Saturday. Inurnment will be at a later date. Arrangements are through Columbia Memorial Chapel, 224 S. 24th Ave., Pasco. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
Mr. Ringel was born Feb. 12, 1925, to Valentine and Mamie Ringel in Walla Walla. He graduated from Walla Walla High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He loved cooking and cooked for numerous restaurants. He was a milk man and a correctional officer at the Washington State Penitentiary. Mr. Ringel married Dorothy Ferguson, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by adopted son Steve Ringel; adopted daughter Janis Ringel; two daughters, Lorraine Smith and Linda Fields; sister Jeanie Rand of Walla Walla; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Edie Ringel; a sister, Mary Jones; and wife Marcia Ringel.
