WW SCHOOL BOARD
Board members are Mary Jo Geidl, president; Max Carrera, Anne Golden, Jim Lehmann and Cindy Meyer. With Carrera absent Tuesday, the board:
HIRES: Approved hiring Sarah Maheras as Green Park kindergarten teacher; Shana Smith as temp math teacher at Pioneer Middle School; and Paul Starkebaum as phsy-ed specialist at Sharpstein Elementary. Also hired three bus drivers, and seven para-educators, including five temporary employees. Unanimous.
RESIGN: Accepted resignations from Jill Carter as Garrison Middle School physical education specialist after eight years; Arthur Davila as plant facilities trades assistant after 34.5 years; and Ada Hodgson as Sharpstein Elementary para-educator. Unanimous.
GRANT: Approved property line adjustment to begin process for a Small Communities in Rural Counties grant. The grant would pay for sidewalk improvements around Prospect Point Elementary from Howard Street toward Wa-Hi gym parking lot, as well as along Reser Road. Project would cost $724,000. Unanimous.
