TOUCHET -- Mediation between the Touchet Education Association and the school district began this morning at the school.
After five bargaining sessions teachers and the district were unable to reach an agreement. Bargaining began July 15.
At issue are loss of professional development time, increased out of pocket expense on insurance, and loss of contracted work days, according to a union news release.
Over 70 percent of the association membership rallied in Touchet park Monday to hear the latest news about contract negotiations. Another rally is scheduled today at noon at the district offices.
