Cold weather, while still stepping lightly, is definitely walking toward Walla Walla and Helpline is in need of blankets of all sizes in clean and reasonable condition.
The agency provides emergency social services and supplies for the area's neediest population.
"Last winter, Helpline was able to provide a total of 385 blankets to individuals and families in need," noted director Dan Willms. "We could not have done this without generous blanket donations from the community."
Groups or individuals interested in donating blankets or facilitating a blanket drive may contact Willms or Wendy Gonzales at 529-3377 for further information. Blanket or monetary donations can be dropped off at 16 S. Colville St.
