INSURANCE: Learned the Association of Washington Cities projects an increase of nearly 10 percent in health insurance, and 5 percent for dental coverage in 2010.
NUISANCE: Upon recommendation of Gillis, Gould will meet with attorney Matt Newberg to discuss language the city would like to incorporate in a new nuisance ordinance.
PERSONNEL: Approved promotion of Mike Lockard as crew foreman, with a salary increase from level 31 to level 34, retroactive to Aug. 1. Also confirmed hiring of Michelle Russell in the Public Works Department. Unanimous for both.
SPORTS COMPLEX: Learned Alan Schroeder of Anderson Perry & Associates, Inc. wrote a grant application to the Public Works Trust Fund for funding of Crystal Springs Sports Quad complex. Amount of the request is $355,000. The complex would include a skate park, playground equipment, track, tennis court and pool resurfacing.
PARKING: Learned signs designating downtown parking limits will be in place soon.
