DAYTON -- "Ewe R Welcome" is the theme of the 119th Columbia County Fair, which opens Friday morning with a free breakfast for gate pass holders.

Welcoming fairgoers will be hostesses Cheyenne Bell, Kyndell Tiedemann and Jennifer Stephens.

Activities abound throughout the three days of the fair, with kids games, musical entertainment, a magician, and a balloon artist. Also available for kids are a rock-climbing wall and a bungee jumper.

The popular Bram Brata Steel Drum Band from the Tri Cities will perform twice on Sunday.

Also appearing on the Midway Stage will be local favorites, the Para-A-Docs barbershop quartette. Other entertainers are Troy "T-Bone" Lucas, Cosmo the Balloon Wizard and Arthur Atsma, Magician Extraordinaire.

New this year is the American Racing Mowers Association lawnmower races. The mowers will rev it up at noon Sunday in the grandstand arena.

Motors dominate evening entertainment all weekend, with the ATV's Eatin' Dirt event Saturday beginning at 6 p.m., and MotoCross action at 5 p.m. Saturday. Both events are in the grandstand arena.

For those with a yen for a quieter fair experience, arts and crafts exhibits, along with commercial booths, will be set up in the Pavilion building. Youth exhibits are on display in the Youth Building.

Those who want to support 4-H and FFA youth can purchase an animal at the Market Livestock Sale Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
