Activities and weekly lunch menus at area senior centers

Activities offered daily at The Center at the Park, 720 Sprague Ave., include a hot lunch served at 11:30 a.m. and pool and cards from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Adult day care is provided at the Adult Day Center 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday. For more information, call Mike Johnson at 509-527-0771.
A complete listing of center activities, classes and health and welfare programs may be found in "The Bottom Line," the center’s monthly newsletter. The annual center membership fee, $12 per person, includes a subscription to it.
Senior Round Table luncheons are served weekdays at noon. For more information, call 509-527-3775. Spanish is spoken at The Center. Bread and milk are served with all meals and a salad bar is available Monday through Friday. This week’s menu:
Monday: Swiss steak with tomato sauce, corn, coleslaw, fruit juice, roll, peachy puzzle cake.
Tuesday: Roast pork, gravy, broccoli, mashed potatoes, fruit juice or salad, roll, pudding.
Wednesday: Summer salad plate-cottage cheese, egg, fruit, melon, roll, fruit cobbler.
Thursday: Meat loaf, gravy, mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes, peaches.
Friday: Brunswick stew, coleslaw, fruit juice, biscuit, pears and cookie.
Lunch is served at Waitsburg Presbyterian Church, 504 Main St., Waitsburg on Tuesdays. Home-delivered meals are available. Questions: call 509-527-3775
Milton-Freewater and Weston senior citizens can enjoy hot lunches and socialize at the senior centers in Milton-Freewater and Weston. Activities are offered 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesdays and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Fridays at the Milton-Freewater Senior Citizens Center, 311 N. Main St. Hot lunches are served at noon on Tuesdays and Fridays. Bingo is 1 p.m. every Tuesday and pinochle is 7 p.m. every Friday. The Weston Senior Citizens Center on Main Street is open for social time and a hot lunch is served at noon on Wednesdays.

The suggested donation is $3.50 for meals for those 60 and older or children under 8; and $6 for those 59 and younger. Bread and milk are served with all meals. The menu for Milton-Freewater is:
Tuesday: Roast pork, gravy, mashed potatoes, layered pea salad, melon, cherry cobbler.
Friday: Sweet and sour meatballs, rice, peas, fruit salad, rolls, cookie.
The Weston menu is:
Wednesday: Texas Longhorns, Poncho pies, pitchforks, barbed wire, wild mustangs, bucking broncos.
Seniors of the Blue Mountains and Walla Walla Valley offer a meal at noon Thursdays in the Milton-Freewater Community Building, 109 N.E. Fifth Ave. Hot rolls and milk are served with every meal. The suggested donation is $3. The menu this week is:
Thursday: Roast beef, brown gravy, veggies in with meat, salad, dessert, hot rolls.
