Garfield County commissioners are Dean Burton, Wynne McCabe and Robert Johnson. With all present Monday commissioners:
LOAN: Agreed to loan the county fire district $70,000 at 2 percent interest. The loan is for an emergency vehicle to replace one that burned last spring on the way to a grass fire. Commissioners will review the loan after 90 days. Unanimous.
BUILDING INSPECTION: Heard proposal from Pomeroy Mayor Alan Gould whether county will be willing to do city's building inspection services.
RECYCLING: Looked at draft plans for recycling bins that are easier to deposit items in.
MENTAL HEALTH: Signed contract with Greater Columbia Behavioral Health Regional Support Network. Unanimous.
DETENTION: Signed 1-year contract with Nez Perce County Regional Juvenile Detention Facility to house juvenile offenders at a rate of $170 per day. Unanimous.
E-911: Reviewed and signed renewal of 1-year contract for $466,516 with Washington State Military Department. Unanimous.
TRANSPORTATION: Signed 2-year contract with the state Department of Transportation for $192,334 to operate Garfield County Public Transportation. Unanimous.
LEVY RATE: Discussed options for tax levy rates for next year.
COURTHOUSE: Started process of applying for Courthouse renovation funding grant.
