PRESCOTT - Waitsburg-Prescott's bats were as cold as the weather here Saturday in a Southeast 2B baseball doubleheader.
The Asotin pitching staff only gave up one hit on the afternoon as the Panthers swept W-P, 13-1 and 4-1.
Asotin took advantage of five first-inning walks to score nine runs in opening the first game.
W-P could not dig out of the hole and the Panther southpaw pitcher kept W-P at bay as Asotin posted a five-inning no hitter.
"We walked 11 in the first three innings," W-P coach Dustin Snedigar said. "We put ourselves in a tough hole to dig out of. We weren't sharp from the get go.
"He (Asotin starter Webb) was a real good lefty," Snedigar said. "He is one of the sharpest we've seen. We didn't adjust and couldn't make contact."
W-P only managed one hit in the second game, by Joe Purdin.
Purdin also started on the hill for W-P and took a 1-1 tie to the top of the fourth.
The Panthers scored three in the visitor fourth to pull out the 4-1 win. Dalton Estes took over for Purdin in the fifth and blanked the Panthers the rest of the way - Purdin and Estes combined on a three hitter - but W-P could not generate any offense.
"The second game was a complete opposite of the first game," Snedigar said. "We hung in there. We didn't hit it real well, but we had a shot as we got some guys on base. We're young and seeing situations we haven't seen before, but we're learning."
W-P travels to DeSales Saturday.
