Michael Paul Crist, 67, died March 27, 2010, at Regency at The Park, in College Place, Washington. A memorial
service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 6th, at the Walla Walla Alliance Church at 902 Howard Street, with Pastor Steve Morris officiating. At a later date, there will be a graveside inurnment service at the Heppner Masonic Cemetery in Heppner, Oregon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army through Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles Military Rd, Walla Walla, WA 99362.
Survivors include Michael's wife, Karen Crist, at their Walla Walla home; son Dana Crist of Milton-Freewater, Oregon; and sister Cheryl Crist of Sterling, Colorado.
One of two children, Michael was born August 27, 1942, in Boise, Idaho, to Winnfred and Edith Gatewood Crist. After high school, Michael worked at a variety of jobs, but a birth defect in his heart made working difficult. A few of the later things he did included serving as a police officer in Stanfield, Oregon; working as an insurance agent in Moses Lake, Washington; being a flagger at race tracks in the Hermiston, Oregon area while he managed an apartment complex in Walla Walla; and taking care of the grounds at the Walla Walla Airport until his retirement in 1995. Michael married the former Karen D. Noguez on May 23, 1993 in Touchet, Washington. He enjoyed trap shooting at the Walla Walla Gun Club and was a 20-year member of B.P.O.E. Lodge #2146 in Milton-Freewater.
