MILTON-FREEWATER - The Mac-Hi tennis team won all but one match against Helix on windy courts here Thursday.
The boys were undefeated at 5-0, and the girl's posted just one loss for 3-1.
In boys singles, No. 1 player Omar Gomez beat Helix's Tyler Bushman, 8-0. Cresencio Beltran defeated Benn Fordice, 8-4 and John Bird defeated Greg Papineau, 8-2. In boy's doubles, Luis Alvarez and Arnie Alvarez defeated Helix's Bushman and Papineau, 8-6.
For the girls, Vivian Diaz won her first match, 8-3, over Helix player Blythe Gabriel. The girls' only loss came at No. 1 singles Ana Hernandez, who fell, 8-6, to Deidre Nitz. Avery Wells won the final singles match for the Pioneers, downing Jackie Hart, 8-0.
The girls won at doubles, with Courtney Koch and Makenzie Sheets over Nitz and Gabriel, 8-4.
"This was Vivian's first year as a tennis player, and she secured her first win tonight," said Mac-Hi head coach Michelle Snyder. "It was very exciting and I'm very proud of her hard work this season."
