  • Wallace Van Hudson, 46, 29389 Minnehaha Road, Hermiston, was sentenced April 5 on one count unlawful acquisition of ephedrine/pseudoephedrine. The sentence included $200 in court costs, $49.50 witness fee, $250 jury demand fee, $328.90 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, $3,000 violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act fee, $500 drug enforcement fund, $100 biological fee, 51 months in the custody of the Department of Corrections, credit for 17 days served, 12 months community custody. On March 24, Hudson was found guilty by jury verdict.

  • Michael Sterling Hankins, 21, 1331 W. Pine St. was sentenced April 5 on one count third-degree assault, domestic violence. The court dismissed one other count. The sentence included restitution to be determined, $200 in court costs, $213.80 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, $100 biological fee, $100 domestic violence penalty assessment, 20 months in the custody of the Department of Corrections, credit for 72 days served, 12 months community custody. On March 22, Hankins pleaded guilty to hitting a person he was in a relationship with with a BB gun, causing bruising, between June 6 and Oct. 9.

  • Joseph D. Barnes, 57, 805 Grandview Ave., College Place, was charged April 8 with two counts of violation of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act. Barnes is accused of unlawfully manufacturing marijuana and unlawfully possessing marijuana with the intent to deliver it on April 6.
